Currently, we conduct a mentoring program for 20 to 30 young black and brown boys at Louis Armstrong Middle School. Plans to expand this program to another school are being developed for the fall of 2024. Volunteers are engaged with the students for approximately 16 man-hours per month from January to May. Students are exposed to adult men from various professions, and they get exposed to meaningful subject matter, such as financial literacy, the highest-paying careers, avoiding conflict, and conflict resolution.
