Each year, we award two sets of financial scholarships to high school students in the San Fernando Valley. The first scholarships are awarded in the fall, and the second round of scholarships are awarded in the spring of the following year. The fall scholarships are open to all high school students in grades 9 through 12. The spring scholarships are only open to graduating high school senior students.
Students are asked to express themselves by writing essays on a variety of topics, which vary from year to year. Following are a few of the past essay topics.
“Promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship is an important way of creating new jobs and enhancing the labor market for the unemployed and other disadvantaged group. In a post-COVID environment, why must young people change their mindset towards self-employment?”
“A world crisis has caused a paradigm shift for health disparities and social justice; what are your suggestions for positive change?”
